Pegg Lampshade

Combining the beauty of wood with the playfulness of origami.

Pegg Lampshade is fun and easy to put together. It can either be hung on a pendant, or with addition of a simple Shade Adaptor, mounted on a table or floor lamp - or hung hupside down.

The Lampshade directs most light downwards, with a little up-lighting from the holes in the top and a subtle glow through the wood grain, and a distinctive silhouette and shadow from the pegged corners. PEGG SHOP

First Edition

Made from European Oak, with oak pegs, this edition gives a glorious gold coloured light reflected from the inside of the lampshade. The oak has a mix of subtle hues, and each shade is different, made from a different pair of slices from the same tree - each with its own map of this one tree’s life.

Designing Pegg Lampshade

Inspired by some quick experiments with coloured card, Michael wanted to remake one of the shapes in timber. After careful experimentation he developed a flexible wooden laminate: wood veneer glued over a cotton core, and pressed flat. The resulting sheet material has all the charm of wood, but can flex. After cutting it crisply by laser, it can be posted to you, to be folded and pegged into your own Pegg Lampshade. Enjoy. PEGG SHOP
